Linda’s Expert Touch

OPS Member Linda Wride has received recognition of her talents recently by featuring in Amateur Photography magazine.

Linda explains:

“Last year I entered the Amateur Photographer of the Year contest and did quite well, finishing in the top 10 photographers.  Over the course of the contest, my highest scoring images were published in AP magazine where they caught the eye of journalist Tracy Calder.  Recently, Tracy contacted me about an article she was writing for AP which would feature the work of ten photographers specialising in different genres, including my work in the architecture section.  I answered technical questions about my kit and camera settings etc, and provided a choice of images to illustrate my work.  The result was a feature in the magazine (3 November).”

“Until I saw the magazine, I had no idea that the thrust of the article was “experts” but reading the article –  and the intro – I realised that I have learned a bit about taking photographs over the years and it sounded like I knew what I was doing, which came as a very pleasant surprise”

Congratulations to Linda and we look forward to seeing more of her work during the rest of the 2018/19 OPS season.
