Phantom Pains: A Personal Journey into Poland’s Troubled Past and Present

Ania Ready and Magda Wolna During their trip to Poland to photograph a popular religious festival held in the ‘holly city’ of Czestochowa Magda Wolna and Ania Ready stumbled upon its neglected and darker side. Their photographic and historical exploration of the area led them not only to question the commonly known image of the city but also to confront their Polish heritage.
