An evening with award-winning photojournalist and author Anna Bruce
We’re delighted to welcome award-winning photojournalist and author Anna Bruce, who has lived and worked in Oaxaca, Mexico, since 2013.
Anna is a captivating storyteller, bringing to life the people, landscapes, traditions and culture of Mexico through her photography and first-hand experience. Her particular expertise is the world of mezcal, where she has spent more than a decade documenting the producers, families and communities behind this extraordinary spirit.
Her acclaimed book, Tequila, Mezcal & More, has been shortlisted for the 2026 André Simon Drinks Award, named one of Forbes’ Best Wine and Spirits Books of 2025, and selected as a Top 10 nominee for the 2026 Spirited Awards.
Anna and her partner also run Rambling Spirits, offering bespoke experiences in Oaxaca. These go far beyond conventional tourism, taking visitors to meet mezcal producers and explore the landscape, culture, crafts and food of the region. Their intimate knowledge and connections allow guests to experience a side of Oaxaca that would be difficult to discover independently.
Expect an evening of stunning photography, extraordinary stories and a fascinating insight into Mexico and its people, from someone who knows the country, its culture and its mezcal traditions from the inside.
Come for the photography, stay for the stories — and discover the remarkable world behind mezcal.
Copies of Anna’s Book – Mezcal and More will be available on the night £20 (cash is easiest!)
